Our Privacy Commitment
QuoteBuddy (formerly DailyQuote) is built with a strict "Privacy First" architecture. Your personal reflections, daily mood entries, and voice notes belong exclusively to you.
The Short Version
We do not sell your personal data. Your text reflections and mood logs are encrypted and synchronized via your personal Apple iCloud account. Voice recordings stay strictly on your local device unless deleted, and optional Apple Health integration is entirely under your control.
1. Reflection & Mood Data Storage
QuoteBuddy allows you to log your mood and write daily reflections:
- Text Reflections & Mood Check-Ins: Stored locally using CoreData on your device and synchronized securely across your Apple devices using Apple CloudKit (iCloud). We do not operate external servers to access or read your journal entries.
- Voice Note Storage: Voice recordings are strictly stored locally on your physical device when enabled in App Settings ("Save Audio to Journal"). Voice audio files are never synced to iCloud or uploaded to any third-party servers. Deleting an entry or removing the app permanently erases the associated audio recordings.
2. Apple HealthKit Integration
You can optionally enable "Sync Mood To Apple Health" in the app settings:
- When enabled, your logged mood check-ins are saved directly to your Apple Health repository under Mental Wellbeing (State of Mind).
- HealthKit data remains private to your device and your personal Health app ecosystem. QuoteBuddy does not collect, track, or share your HealthKit data with third parties or advertisers.
3. Subscriptions & Payments (RevenueCat)
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store and managed via RevenueCat:
- RevenueCat processes anonymous, non-personally identifiable transactional data (such as active subscription status, purchase timestamp, and randomized app user IDs) to validate purchase status and grant access to premium features.
- We do not collect or store financial details such as credit card numbers or billing addresses on our servers.
4. Biometric Protection (Face ID / Touch ID)
If enabled, biometric lock features (Face ID or Touch ID) utilize Apple's local iOS authentication framework. Biometric identification data is processed entirely by Apple hardware and is never accessible to QuoteBuddy.
5. Diagnostic & App Store Data
Standard non-identifiable telemetry (such as anonymous crash logs or aggregate performance metrics) may be collected via Apple App Store Connect if you have consented in your iOS settings to share diagnostic data with app developers.
