We showed you a prototype of an ant-inspired, 6-legged robot, that could be useful for helping you bringing things around. Now there is a ready product called the Hexapod KMR-M6 which is also a six-legged bot that has been launched by a company called Kondo.

Meet the iRobot 110, a robot that has a spy camera and its purpose is meant for the police or military to transport valuable things without being noticed. Apparently, what is shown here is a prototype but is expected to be available next year.

Japanese have high dependency on robots. Now, they have a better idea, which combines a mini humanoid, telepresence robot and a cell phone into a single device called the Elfoid. The Elfoid was developed by Japan’s Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute (ATR), which aims to make communication more intimate and personal.

Robii is the first robot that comes equipped with a built-in pico projector and aims to provide projections of educational slides and interactive games for children. The Robii robot is a product of Compal Communication and it uses a LCoS based pico-projector made by Himax.

The da Vinci Si surgical robot is definitely a super expensive tool so there is a need to study if it’s worth to have surgical robots in the hospitals. An earlier study indicated that robotic surgery was better for head and neck cancer patients to regain the ability to swallow, while compared with standard laser microsurgery.

ReWalk Exoskeleton is the kind of robotic leg that’s made to allow paralyzed patients to regain their walking ability. The ReWalk comprises of various motorized joints and motion sensors and is controlled by a computer that is to be carried by the user like a backpack.

A Tokyo-based robot venture, Activelink, a spin-off from Panasonic, has developed a power-amplifying suit that allows humans to carry loads up to 100kg. Unfortunately, a practical version of this robotic suit will only be ready at least five years from now.
