The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest Android OS that’s been designed to suit both smartphones and tablets. The previous versions of Android OSes are Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 and Android 3.X Honeycomb which are meant for smartphones and tablets respectively. Now the Android 4.0 combines both.
The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich comes with various new features including multi-tasking, rich notifications as well as home screens that can be highly customized instead of the just a standard grid layout. Android.com has more details about its new features.
Well, a tweet by Samsung also indicates that their Samsung Galaxy S2 will get an upgrade to Android 4.0 but there is no indication of when the Samsung Galaxy S2. It seems that UK and Europe will get the upgrade sooner, while the US has two different versions of the Samsung Galaxy S2 on two different carriers, therefore the update will take longer.
