LG has announced a new desktop printer called the LG Machjet LPP6010N, which is based on the Memjet technology and claimed to be the world’s fastest desktop printer. Most commercial printers are based on bubblejet, inkjet and laser technologies. This LG printer should be the first commercial printer based on the Memjet technology.
Memjet technology might be new to you, actually it’s the kind of technology that delivers ultra fast printing speed for high end printers. Regular inkjet printers have hundreds of nozzles that deliver dots of ink to the paper. But a Memjet printer is usually equipped with a whopping 70,000 nozzles that are able to pump out 700 million drops of ink per second. With such a comparison, you should clearly know how much faster a Memjet printer while compared to an inkjet printer.
Furthermore, the Memjet printer has a big head that’s as wide as the page itself, therefore it does not even have to move across the page. The Memjet printer is also claimed to be less expensive to operate while compared to equivalent laser printers.
Currently, there is no price info about the LG Machjet LPP6010N. Hopefully, it’ll be somewhere close or lower than the price points of most laser printers. The LG Machjet is definitely a great alternative to laser printers. A clip is included below showing an example of how fast a Memjet printer prints.
