I’m not an expert of photography but I occasionally use my iPhone 4′s camera to snap some pictures. Controlling the iPhone’s camera on its touchscreen is definitely not as easy as controlling a point and shoot camera. That’s why there is a need for this iShuttr case which allows your iPhone to work as a truly point and shoot camera.
The iShuttr case is meant for those who always use their iPhones to snap some shots while they’re on the go. Once the iPhone is housed in the iShuttr case, it makes quite a number of differences from using the iPhone only .
Firstly, the iShuttr case adds a real firing flash to the backside of the case. Although the iPhone has a built-in LED flash, but it’s good only for up-close photography. If you wanna take pictures of some distant subject, the additional flash of the iShuttr case will come in handy, allowing you to always shed some light to the distant subject.
Secondly, as mentioned, the case is equipped with zoom in/out buttons and a shutter release, which definitely make controlling the shutter much easier than using the iPhone’s touchscreen.
Thirdly, the case has been designed with an ergonomic grip area, allowing the control/shutter release buttons to be more easily accessible and it lets your iPhone to mount on any tripod like a real camera, so you can easily take timed photos.
But I see a little problem here, the case does add extra length to the bottom of your iPhone and the grip does add bulk, making the iPhone not so suitable for your tight jeans pocket.
Anyway, the iShuttr case is not a finished product yet, it’s currently just a project at Kickstarter.com. The developers are still waiting more fund as they need to buy some components to make this thing real. If you love this idea, then support them to raise some fund as they need $50k, while they’re still far short from the required amount. It’s also available for pre-order on iShuttr.com.
