I’m not too sure why there is a need for a notebook to be equipped with a transparent display. There could be a few good reasons, such as it lets you see what’s behind the laptop screen, or lets you be aware while your boss is approaching. Anyway, Samsung has got a new notebook that comes with a 14-inch transparent LCD display, which was shown off at FPD China 2011.

The said Samsung notebook packs a 14-inch transparent display with a resolution of 1680 x 1080 pixels. There is also a white LED unit installed on each of the four corners of the display. The Samsung’s transparent displays will be rolled out to its laptops later this year.
Samsung laptops with transparent displays should hit the stores by end of 2011 or beginning of 201.
