The long-awaited Nokia N8 smartphone has been officially confirmed to ship sometime last week of September. Although there is no definite date but at least you know it’ll reach your door around end of September, if you’re one of those who’s pre-ordered the N8.
The N8 will also be available in store from October 1, including Carphone Warehouse, O2, Orange, Phones4u, T-Mobile, Tesco Phone Shops, Three Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone. A SIM free version of the Nokia N8 is priced at £429 or you can get it free with a contract that costs £35/month.
The Nokia N8 will come with features including 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash, HD video recording quality, built-in editing suite, Dolby Digital Plus surround sound, Ovi apps, integrated with social networks including Facebook and Twitter, and a more responsive UI which allows flick scrolling and pinch-to-zoom.
Nokia also plans to make a short promotional film which will be recorded in HD using the phone’s camera and have Pamela Anderson and possibly you to star in the film to create awareness of the Nokia N8 smartphone. To enter, you just need to vote “like” for Nokia’s UK Facebook profile.
