If you’re a modern musical instrument player, who’s more used to using your a laptop or an iPad to display the music e-books while you’re playing, you’ll surely face one common difficulty : having to pause to press the arrow key or touch the screen to move to the next page of the music e-book. As shown in the picture above, it’s kind of disturbing having to stop blowing the flute and press a key to move to next page of the music book.
But now with a little device called the AirTurn BT-105, you can turn those pages of electronic music book on your computer or iPad by using your foot. So, there is no interruption in between. Basically, the AirTurn BT-105 is a Bluetooth transmitter and receiver pair that is able to work with a handful of foot switches including Boss and Roland. It also works with quite a number of applications including Word, Acrobat, PowerPoint and Keynote etc.
The transmitter has a range of up to 100 feet and it’s powered by a couple of AA batteries that should keep it running for weeks. For a price of $40, you can get the AirTurn page turner which includes the transmitter and receiver. The company also sells bundles which start at a price of $70 which includes one or more Boss foot switches.
