Most laptops come with low-end graphics cards, and of course they do not offer rooms for easy expansion. But if you need more advanced graphics processing power on your laptop to suit your game play, what you can do is only to make use of an external graphics card.
MSI has announced their first external graphics card, which comes in the form of a gaming solution that is dubbed as the MSI’s Graphics Upgrade Solution or GUS. The GUS connects to your laptop via the ExpressCard slot. The devcie packs a a MSI Radeon HD 5670 1GB graphic card in it. You can also put other graphics card in it but the power limitations of the device restricts it to use the Radeon HD 5670 only.
The MSI’s GUS also consumes more bandwidth than other ExpressCard devices do. MSI has announced that they’ll continue to make more external graphics cards and there will be some based on the USB 3.0 coming in the future. The MSI GUS is now available for a price from $169 to $229. If your laptop has low graphics processing power, this is the most straightforward solution to add more graphics power to it.

Unfortunately, it is not as easy as it seems. All notebooks/laptops allow you to upgrade the batteries and replace external ac adapters. But it is not so easy for upgrading the video card….they should just change the way they do it. But, yes, there are several options to upgrade…one is mentioned on this site. The other I came across is the star tech external video card.
But I would strongly suggest to first call your manufacturer’s tech support to see if it is possible to do with your particular model, before purchase.
Cheers.
