Google has got their own branded phone, the Nexus One and now they’re working on a Google-branded netbook, and of course it’s going to run the Google Chrome OS.
Google has been working with a number of manufacturers to produce Chrome OS netbooks. But it’ll be only one manufacturer which Google is working closely with, to produce a really Google-branded netbook.
The Google-branded netbook will not be in the rush for release. You’ll probably have to wait till Q4 or just before Christmas in 2010.
Well, a Google-Chrome-based netbook is fully web-centric. I’ve tried out the USB version of the Google Chrome OS on my Dell Mini Inspiron. It’s simply too “web-centric”, presents a Google Chrome browser-like interface for easy accesses to various Google online apps such as GMail, Picasa, Google Docs etc.
But you can’t go too far with that except the Google’s online apps. What if you wanna develop some small PHP apps on the netbook? Perhaps, it’ll be a different story when Google successfully rolls out the Google-branded netbooks by end of next year.
