The Huawei E5 is a portable device that can convert 3G GSM signal into WiFi signal. In other words, this device works like a 3G router which offers WiFi connections for computers and other WiFi-capable mobile devices to connect it, to share its 3G Internet connection.
The Huawei E5 claims to be first of its kind that does the 3G to WiFi signal conversion. The device is super handy when you’re on the run and you’d like to setup a mini WiFi hotspot for a few of your co-workers, so they can use their laptops and mobile devices to access the Internet via a single 3G connection. Basically you can also do the same by having the PdaNet app installed on your iPhone 3G. Specifications are as follows:
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g
- WAPI
- HSUPA/HSDPA/UMTS 2100 MHz
- EDGE/GPRS/GSM 1900/1800/900/850 MHz
- MicroSD card: up to 32G
