Google’s Android OS has come to netbooks. Rumors are floating around, manufacturers like Dell, Asus, and HP have been deemed to have started making Android-powered netbooks. But it seems like the Chinese manufacturer, Skytone, is one step ahead, has got Alpha 680 mini netbook ready to see the world.
The Alpha 680 netbook is based upon an ARM11 533Mhz CPU. It’s equipped with a 7-inch screen that is capable of 800×480 resolution. It’s got 128MB DDR2 RAM( expandable to 256MB), 1GB SSD (expandable to 4GB), SD card slot, 2 USB ports, WiFi, 2-cell battery, keyboard and touchpad.

This netbook measures 8.5 inches long, 6 inches wide, 1.2 inches thick and weighs about 1.5lbs (0.68kg). It shall fit pretty well for the niche as a “tween device” smaller than an average 8.9-inch netbook and bigger than average cell phone.
It comes in cherry red, will be a great companion for gamers, expected to be launched in Q3 2009 with a price tag of $250.
