If your house gets little exposure to sunlight, it may cause lots of problems or sicknesses, such as dampness all around or you may experience Seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
Sun Track is a DIY project by a brainy guy, which the intention of this gadget is to bring more sunlights into the house. You can use Sun Track at those corners of your house where sunlights are hard to reach.
The maker uses SunTrack to reflect the sun in his house and keep the reflection all day. The system consists of a two axis motor set up, which was built from a couple of satellite dish positioning motors with the control electronics removed.

The system depends on a PIC 8f2520 micro-controller as the brain to control everything. This micro-controller is smart enough to calculate the position of the sun. From that on, it manages to work out the reflection position and the mirrors are adjusted every 20 minutes, to keep themselves being able to reflect sunlights properly into your room for all day long.

I like the idea not just for the light, but the power that the sunlight contains. With this setup, reflecting sunlight into your house heats up any surface the light comes into contact with. Perfect for the winter time. You could reduce your heating bill substantially. Reflecting the light onto dark conductive objects would thermally heat the object during the day. At night, the object would give off it’s heat. Awesome project.
