Sony Ericsson has embraced the T-mobile, by having their new cellphone, TM506 to support the 3G network of T-mobile. The TM506 is a stylish clamshell that is designed best for surfing the Internet.
The SE TM506 is the first handset which works on the T-Mobile’s 3G network on the AWS spectrum (1700/2100), and is scheduled to be launched early next month. This handset shows the move of Sony Ericsson in expanding its footprints over more carriers in the United States. Having embraced the T-Mobile, SE has now got more than 31 million wireless subscribers.
The SE TM506 is a stylish clamshell that comes in a pretty slim body which fits well in any pocket, purse or briefcase. Features found on this cellphone is a 2-megapixel camera, Memory stick Micro (M2) card slot for the ease of memory expansion, and SE’s Media center which is an application that lets you manage your photos and videos on this cellphone with ease.
The TM506 cellphone also supports the a built-in aGPS module, and together with the T-Mobile’s TeleNav’s Navigator navigation software, it’s best used to guide your home while you’ve almost lost your way.
The phone supports quad-band GSM(850/900/1800/1900MHz), it supports both the AWS 1700MHz 3G network as well as the the 2100MHz networks used in Europe. Other goodies are Bluetooth 2.0, which supports A2DP wireless transferring of your audio clips.
The SE TM506 weighs 96 grams and measures 3.7 x 1.9 x 0.69 inches when it isn’t flipped open. The battery is able to provide a talk time of up to 9.5 hours while on GSM only, 3.5 hours while on UMTS, and a standby time of 250 hours. The pricing info is still unknown, but it should be pretty affordable.
