Couple of friends have complained to me that their newly bought LCD monitors having few red and green spots. And they’re pretty frustrated especially when having few spots only on their LCD monitor. As some vendors only allow you to return or exchange for a new one if the LCD monitor has more than certain number of spots. Anyway, it seems there are two very simple online tools to fix these spots which are contributed by dead pixels. And to detect the dead pixels on the LCD before you carry the LCD screen out of the vendor’s shop.
To fix the dead pixels on your LCD monitor, what you’ll need to do is pop over to KillDeadPixel.com. And an image of a flashing square is presented to you (as shown at left-hand side). What you need to do is to drag the image to those spots that have dead pixels and let it stay for an hour or more. It’s been reported to work many times. No harm to give it a try.
The second tool, Dead Pixels Test is what you could use to detect the dead pixels on LCDs. Just tell your computer shop that you wanna hook up the LCD monitor that you’re gonna purchase and serve the Internet for a try. So, pop over to Dead Pixels Test website to detect those dead pixels on the LCD, before you carry it home.
