Don’t you want a battery that takes very short time to charge and the battery has a lifespan for many years? Here comes another great product from Toshiba, the SCiB batteries. SCiB stands for Super Charge ion batteries, which are batteries that you need less than 5 minutes to charge to reach 90% or more of the capacity. And the batteries remain useful for at least 10 years. You can have up to 5,000 times of recharging under normal charging condition. For those with oevrly hectic lifestyle and always go for quick charging, the batteries still can last up 3,000 times of recharging.
Toshiba has come out with two sizes only for these batteries, which the smallest is the 2.4V that measures 62 x 95 x 13-mm / 150-grams. And the big one is the 24V version which measures in at 100 x 300 x 45-mm and 2000-grams. The first production run for these batteries are not meant for consumer electronic, it’s meant for industrial-use devices such as hybrid cars etc. The batteries will be made available in March 2008. Come on, Toshiba, work harder, make more versions that can power our gadgets and laptop computers!

Toshiba has brought another fine product to market with this ‘Super Battery”. Sad note – Not North American technology, Not developed for our economies’ benefit, Not developed by graduates of our schools, Not a product of our “Great Society, Not supported by our wonderful food supply. Not encouraged by our “Great Government”. Not developed by GM or Ford or Chrysler product users. Not a chance to show our technical superiority. Not designed by residents of Mc Mansions. Not developed on super computers designed for gaming (surprise) Not developed by morally bankrupt 16 year old girls with STDs (one in four in America) Not developed by teens with their own cars in high school, (Japanese kids go year-round on foot, eating low-carb diets) Am I Worried? Yes, and heart-sick at the slovenly gluttony and waste that has decimated the richest continent in the world – Ours!

Hey that’s good news coming from toshiba,
Quick-charging batteries are the next big thing!
Image your full-electric car charging up in a couple of minutes, it sure beats going to the gas station, as it’s a LOT cheaper! And in fact the only -technological- thing thats really holding back consumers to buy electric cars is charging times(and for long trips: driving range). And it’s way more efficient than using hydrogen as a carrier.
Have a look at http://www.epyon.nl as well for a dutch company who actually IS developing consumer-products.
-and no; i’m not associated with epyon or any other company

Great, but how long do they last between charges?

Another “revolution” in battery tech, but no mention of the amp hours. So many of these posts say amaziong things about charging and lifespan, but nothing about how long the charge lasts – not ten years as these posts seem to imply. someone pls use your head and stop trying to be sensational
