Fujitsu Siemens green monitor – draws zero power on standby

Fujitsu Siemens' first monitor that draws zero power on standby
British Government seems to have big concern about those computers or screens left on the standby modes. Even though computers on standby modes consume only little power, but this little power doesn’t make British Government happy with their green initiative.

Fujitsu Siemens has brought us a good news here. What they’ve produced is the first monitor that draws zero power when it’s on standby mode. Currently, it’s still a prototype, and Fujitsu had shown the 22-inch test monitor during a press event in Germany. The invention is also applicable for television.

The new type of monitor will have a big capacitor that is able to store enough charge that will allow the monitor to be brought back to life immediately, as long as it happens within five days. Well, I think this solution is more useful for TV, as I seldom leave my computer monitor on standby mode but I’ll always do it for my home TV.
