Sony Ericsson announces MD300 USB HSDPA modem
It’s time to start eyeing some 3G or higher-G USB modems as the 3G or 3.5G networks have now started planting their foot prints across many countries. The kind of 3G or HSDPA USB modem is pretty handy for you to just hook it to your computer’s USB port, so you can have Internet roaming via the cellular networks, when you’re out of touch with a wired or wireless network.

Sony Ericsson has recently announced the first USB mobile broadband modem, which is called MD300. The Sony Ericsson’s USB MD300 broadband modem allows you to access Internet by connecting to cellular networks that support HSDPA/UMTS at 850, 1900, and 2100 MHz. It also supports lower-bandwidth networks such as EDGE/GPRS networks at 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. It’s compatible for OSes including windows 2000, XP, Vista and Mac OS X. The modem itself is also equipped with internal 128MB memory and it comes with the driver and software needed. This device will be made available in Q1 2008 and will be available in black or silver colors. The price is still unknown.
