I guess that is the trend in the industry recently. We’ve seen some gadgets made of wood. And now, a bicycle that is also made of wood. This is the design concept of the designer Roland Kaufmann. According to him, this bicycle is a dual bike, which you can take it for a ride to and from work every day and also for trekking cross-country. The intention behind of having this bicycle built of wood, is simply the designer believes that wood is more lightweight, up to 10 times stiffer than fibreglass and nearly 6 times stiffer than a kevlar/epoxy composite. Now, the question is, will it work?

That bike looks pretty cool. I know it is just a photoshop design but if the make them I think they would be great.

At least we can rest at ease, knowing that we won’t drown while cycling.

[...] Here are some wooden toys that worth to take note here to go into the collection. We’ve seen quite a number of of wooden gadgets recently, so we simply can’t miss this. Well, as shown in the picture, they’re only some wooden toys that built in the shape of robots, which shouldn’t carry any high-tech functionalities in it. Anyway, they’re pretty cute and finely crafted. The few shown in the picture are named as “Wind man and thunder man”, which are having their kids beside, the wind child and thunder child, respectively. Sounds like the new member for the Fantastic 4? [...]

[...] Again, someone wants to take another challenge for the power of termites, has another gadget made of wood. That’s the Tree Camera, which is meant for sound but not for vision. It’s an MP3 player that is made into the shape of a camera. If you leave it on your work desk, it’d have most probably misled your colleague to pick it up and start pulling its lens cover off by force. Anyway, it’s just an MP3 player with 256MB built-in memory. It supports music files such as MP3, WMA and OGG and can be hooked to your PC’s USB port. The Tree Camera comes in three color options, which are the pink, blue and the natural. A wooden MP3 should be more lightweight than any average MP3 player or even your iPod? [...]

[...] We’ve seen wooden bike before which was still a conceptual design. Now, the Japanese seems to be even much more ahead of anyone, looking into a wooden car possibility. The very first question that comes across my mind is “Does it work?”. The Japanese Wooden Supercar is claimed to be working perfectly and able to reach a top speed of 90km/h. The entire car is made out of wood except its engine and other mechanical gear. Of course, I don’t think they can make anything further other than just getting its body made of wood. This wooden car is the product of some furniture manufacturer and carries a price tag that isn’t cheap, which is $32,000! It’s simply taking a pretty high risk of having to drive this wooden car. Imagine when it’s almost reaching its top speed, perhaps, the body would break and disperse! Here is the link for the video of this wooden car in action! via [bOrNRiCh] [...]
