Watch doubles up as a USB 2GB flash drive

August 4th, 2007 by ketyung

Watch doubles up as a USB 2GB flash driveIf watch is the most ubiquitous companion for you and you will always wear it wherever you go, why not get one that can store your data as well? This USB memory watch is simply cool, as its name already tells that it doubles up as a USB flash drive and with a storage capacity that is up to par – 2GB.

When you hook this watch to your computer, it will be recognized as a normal flash drive and you can then transfer data to and from your computer. The watch comes with a built-in USB connector, which is nicely hidden along its band while you’re wearing it. And only to flip it up for connecting it to your computer’s USB port. The watch isn’t any bulky type, which is pretty lightweight, but it’s water resistant to 20 meters only, could be too low for some of you, if you’re a frequent swimmer who likes to bring your watch to swim together with you. It’s also advisable to dry up the USB connector before connecting to your computer.

Black Dice LED watch deceives others that you’re high-tech guru from the future!

Black Dice LED watch deceives others you're high-tech guru from the future!
The Black Dice LED watch simply serves as good tool to deceive others that you’re some kind of high-tech guru, who doesn’t belong to this century. Its way of telling time is completely different from any watches that you’re used to. When you wanna read the time, you need a press on the button at its right hand side to activate its LCD display. From that on, the LCD display will light up, going through some transition, as if giving you instruction that you’ve got a secret mission to complete, but it’s actually telling you the time.

The watch is stainless steel, with a sleek black and silver design that strongly presents its futuristic look. Its LED display is rectangular and red. And it’s equipped with bracelet link strap.

Reactor Trident – Super “glow in dark” watch, it’s “Never Dark”!

July 25th, 2007 by ketyung

Reactor Trident Never Dark Watch
I was a little bit puzzled when I first read the specification of this watch. To me, it’s pretty common that nowadays, watches come with numbered dials and the hands having the “glow-in-dark” effect. Mostly all the “glow in dark” watches should carry some kind of chemical luminescences on the dial and hands, so it will be able to glow in the dark after being exposed for sometime to light. The Reactor Trident Never Dark Watch here shouldn’t be too far from the “glow in dark” group of watches. But its specialty is its “glow in dark” effect can last very much longer than any other ordinary watches i.e it still glows even though it’s been left in complete darkness for more than seven years.

Nixie tube watch looks cool?

July 23rd, 2007 by ketyung

Nixie tube watch looks cool?
The components used as the display of those old-day calculators back in 1969 were the kind of nixie tubes – the very old-fashioned neon display tubes. Now some brainy guys have made use of these obsolete nixie tubes to make up the design of a wristwatch for the 21st century. The watch is made up of two user-replaceable nixie tubes, which each tube shows only one number. The watch is capable of displaying up to two digits only, so meaning you’d be getting only the hours but neither the minutes nor the seconds? No, you can simply switch between hours, minutes and seconds, by just having a flick of the wrist in sequence. The source code of the watch’s firmware has been published under GPL license too, so you can make a little twist if you know what to do for it.

Cheap watch with cheap look but it’s an infrared universal remote control for your TV!

July 22nd, 2007 by ketyung

Infrared universa remote watch with touch panel
I agree this watch simply looks cheap. By judging at its look, I’d say that it’s some kind of watch that would normally go attached as gift when buying cooking oil. But, its internal is such a sophisticated one that you wouldn’t expect at all from its outer look.

It’s not meant for telling time only. It’s also a universal infrared remote control for your TVS or DVD players and equipped with touch screen for ease of operation. It’s compatible with most popular brands of TVs and DVD players.

The screen of this watch is pretty small, which could give you little hard time if you wanna use your fingertip to turn on and off of its buttons on the touch-screen interface.

Perhaps, for ladies who have slim fingers that would be much easier. Or else I’d just suggest simply pick up a pen or a stylus to do that, so you won’t miss some of the favorite parts when you’re in a rush to switch back channels. The watch also includes the common features found on watches, such as electroluminescent backlighting for use in dark rooms, clock, alarm clock and calendar etc.

To my surprise is its price is definitely telling you that it’s a cheap watch, which costs only $6.24. It’s definitely worth having, and you can always stay as the winner while fighting for channels in front of the TV.

Morse code LED watch tells time even more confusing!

July 21st, 2007 by ketyung

Morse code LED watch tells time even more confusing!
I don’t think it’s a good idea to have morse code to tell time. I think nowadays it’s hard to find anyone that I know personally who can interpret morse code. Of course, the Wikipedia page shows a pretty complete explanation and also the table that shows the code relationship with numbers and letters. As the title says, the watch carries an LED display that tells the time by morse code, either by sound or vision. Meaning it can be set to sound out time in morse code or shows in combination of dashes and dots in morse code on its LED display. If I were the one who wore this watch, perhaps, I’d always need to have the browser on my portable to hook up to Wikipedia web page, in order for me to tell the time. But no worry, the watch has an option for you to set it to a normal LED time that displays time in normal digits that you’re used to instead of the complex morse code.

Dual digital display watch

July 21st, 2007 by ketyung

Dual digital display watch
Another dual-faced watch, which both of its faces are digital LCD displays, which is different from the one we’d seen last week, which one face was an analog and the other was digital. You’d probably ask dozens of questions why there is a need for it to carry two LCD screens. The black THix watch simply gives you the kind of handiness so you can have each LCD display tells time of different time zone. This is the best for those who always travel across multiple time zones. Of course, you aren’t the kind of frequent traveler, the dual time zone isn’t that useful to you, you can also set one display to tell you the time only and the other one tells you the day and date. The watch also carries functions such as stopwatch and multiple alarm settings on each display. Which seems to be specially designed for frequent traveler, so you can catch up with time precisely. The watch features a stainless steel case and back and is water resistant up to 100 feet.

Gesture controlled watch plays “Rock, paper, scissors” with you!

July 19th, 2007 by ketyung

Gesture controlled watch lets you play
Doesn’t it sound cool if you could control your watch by gesture remotely without touching it? Researchers at Georgia Institute of Technology have developed a working prototype that is able to recognize gesture. So, to control it, you can just simply wave your hands, point your fingers, have a couple of rounds of “rock, paper, scissors” with it, but without touching it. The Gesture Watch is loaded with couple of Infrared sensors, which are capable of detecting hand movements in close proximity to the watch. The watch is also loaded with software that is able to interpret the gestures. I’m not too sure if there is a function that lets you pre-program the gesture patterns as per your choice or it can only recognize a default set. Anyway, it’s still a prototype.

Fossil dual-faced watch

July 15th, 2007 by ketyung

Fossil dual-faced watch
We’ve just seen a few days ago that Fossil carries a watch that hardly for you to find its moving arms. Now, Fossil has a much different one, which you can say it’s totally opposite, which has got two faces – making use of the analog moving arms and also the prominent digital display to tell you time. The main chunk of the watch is basically occupied all by the analog face where the two arms are ticking. But the numbers are only available on the right portion of its face. The digital display only occupies about little bit more than one third of the entire face of the watch, which is located on the left side and the reading numbers in a vertical configuration. It seems to be that both the analog and digital faces having independent setting controls for their own time. Which could result some kind of confusion if you accidentally set one time slightly off from the other.
