Although your smartphone, PDA or UMPC comes with a QWERTY keyboard, but I don’t think they can provide you as much productivity as the full-sized PC QWERTY that your’re used to. This is simply because of your fingers are too big to type quickly on the overly small QWERTY of your PDA or smartphone. Due to the small size of the QWERTY of your smartphone or PDA, you tend to not to use it for typing long email messages, memos or surfing the web. Even though it comes with almost all the functionalities that you get on your laptop/PC. The ANYCOM Stowaway Keyboard is the wireless Bluetooth-enabled full-sized PC keyboard that works with any PDA, smartphone, tablet etc, to enable you to gain as much productivity as using the full-sized PC QWERTY keyboard.

Still remember the pico projector? The projector that is small enough to be attached to the butt of a cell phone. Here is another small size projector, which is the product of an Israel company, ExPlay that they have demonstrated at the SID 2007 conference at Long Beach, California.
The ExPlay’s tiny projector is bigger in size than the Pico Projector, as you can simply tell by its name, which it’s called oio nano projector.

How many times that you’ve come across with some weirdly designed websites that really pissed you off till you wanna shake or turn the monitor of your PC or laptop? I think pretty soon, we’ll get the kind of tablet PC laptop, whenever you’ve across a weird looking website, you can then shake it to throw your anger! BT balance is now working on a kind of motion-sensitive tablet PC laptop, which it responds well to motion, meaning you can turn it or moving it up and down, or perhaps, even shake it to get what you want it to do. Of course, this kind of design is not meant for the hot-tempered like you, to throw your anger on it. It’s meant for helping those disabled or elderly, who have difficulties of using mouse and keyboard.
The idea is to make PC simpler, as PC’s mouse and keyboard are still pretty complex not only for the elderlies but also for some beginners. Of course, this idea will definitely make computer very much easier to use, for example, reading through books, documents, which you can turn pages by only simple flips of your PC monitor. Some other easiness will be reading maps, which you can just tilt the screen up or down, left or right, corresponding to moving the map north, south, west or east.

Fujitsu is a pretty late comer for the UMPC line. It’s just joined the line, which it’d just showcased its first UMPC design in Beijing at the Intel Developers Forum last week. This first UMPC of Fujitsu will feature the latest Intel “Stealey†A100 or A110 processor. The Fujitsu’s UMPC has a rotatable screen, when rotated, you can also lay its screen flat over the keyboard. Its display is a 5.6 inch of 1024 x 600. It comes with 1GB main memory, 40GB hard drive, two cameras and also SD reader. It’s also equipped with two-core battery and optional four-core battery that can last seven hours to make it more portable. There is no words of pricing and availability.

Again, Samsung is making itself to win the “biggest” title in the world for its hard disk drive. This “biggest” title definitely refers to its storage size not the physical dimension. After knowing the Samsung SpinPoint 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, the M5, which has a great storage capacity of 250GB, again, Samsung’s got another one in its SpinPoint series, which is targetted for the UMPCs and they’re also having high storage capacity. The newly announced Samsung SpinPoint hard drive is the 1.8 inch SpinPoint N2. Such a small physical size is definitely meant for those ultra portable devices such as UMPCs or perhaps, it can also go into future generations of iPods without any issue. And the SpinPoint N2, once again got another “first in the market” title for its storage size, 120GB, for Samsung. The little N2 spins at 3,600rpm or 4,200rpm with a 15-ms average seek time. Its power consumption is definitely low enough, which takes only sub-1 watt, to help keep your portable device fully portable (Low consumption meaning your postable’s battery could last longer and there is no need to find power source to recharge between uses). Production of the 1.8-incher is expected to start in July.

A couple of months back that I spotted the Kohjinsha’s SA1F00V UMPC on eBay. Now, it’s time to have a little catch up with its latest development. There is some upgrade of features for this ultra portable PC. The newly upgraded features are its screen is now replaced with a sensitive 7-inch touch panel, which you can use with its built-in stylus or even your finger. It also has an upgrade for its hard disk size, which is 100GB now (up from 80GB). Due to the screen converted to a touch panel, it also contributes some weight. Its weight has approximately 30g increased, so it weights about 990g now. Other than this, the rest of the specs remain unchanged. With all these newly added features, there is only a slight increase in price, which is priced at $843.00 now.
