September 7th, 2009 by ketyung

MenQ risc-cpu netbookMenQ EasyPC netbook, E102, is an unusual netbook that comes with a RISC (Reduced instruction set computer) processor that is compatible with the x-86 processor. There are two versions of processor for this netbook which are the 1.2GHz and 1.6GHz and they can support Windows XP.

But since the processor is based on RISC architecture, it also means not all XP applications are able to run on it. The reason that the company chose a RISC processor instead of the x86 chip from Intel, AMD or VIA could be the cost. As this netbook will be targeted at about $160 for dealer and the street price could be in between $200 to $300.
