MSI to unveil WindPad tablets, Wind U270 and X370 notebooks at CES

MSI also has a number of interesting devices to unveil at CES 2011 including the WindPad tablets, 12-inch Wind U270 and 13-inch X370 notebooks. There are two versions of the WindPad tablets, which had some news earlier this year. The Android version, WindPad 100A tablet, comes with various equipments including a digital compass, GPS, accelerometer, and Wi-Fi.

LG mobile 3D TV to be launched at CES 2011

Samsung to unveil world’s thinnest 3D Blu-ray player at CES 2011

Samsung has many great gadgets to show off at CES 2011. One of them is the world’s thinnest 3D Blu-player which is ready to be displayed at CES in January. The Samsung’s 3D Blu-ray player is able to convert 2D to 3D automatically. It measures in at 23mm only and is able to mount to the wall.

AMD Radeon HD 6950 can be modded into a more powerful HD 6970

According to some modders at TechPowerUp, the AMD Radeon HD 6950 graphics card actually uses the same GPU used by the more powerful HD 6970. The HD 6950 is slower as some features are locked, and you just need to have a bit of modding to have the features unlocked and turn the slower HD 6950 into an HD 6970. This is definitely a good news for those who’ve got the HD 6950, so you do not have to fork out more for getting a more powerful 6970.

Robotic surgery is expensive but showing promise for head and neck cancers

The da Vinci Si surgical robot is definitely a super expensive tool so there is a need to study if it’s worth to have surgical robots in the hospitals. An earlier study indicated that robotic surgery was better for head and neck cancer patients to regain the ability to swallow, while compared with standard laser microsurgery.

Cellphones will do 3D Holographic video calls by 2015

In the sci-fi movies, you’ve seen that 3D Holographic image of a person can be projected in front of another person, so they can have conversation with full facial expressions and body movements. But it seems that the technology isn’t too far from today, as a recent survey conducted by IBM over 3,000 researchers, has indicated that the 3D Holographic video calls will be made possible on cellphones by 2015.
