I’ve been in the IT field for couple of years, I know clearly there is always a fight between the sales personnel or the product manager and the engineers! Here is the story between Google and Yahoo.
According to UberPulse, through their conversation with Yahoo’s director of Real-Time Communications, Jeff Bonforte (pictured), Google is just not conducive to create products. Bonforte’s best product manager went to Google but eventually came back after six months due to he got sick and tired with Google’s chaotic culture! According to the product manager, he had no control of what he wanted during his 6 months at Google. In Google, simply engineers rule! And this guy claimed that Google’s products never show a dent in the market.

Phone ads or annoucement normally associated with hot models, of course no exception for the LG. LG has been presenting us quite a number of cool phones in its lines-up recently. Now, here is new one, the LG KH1300 has just joined the line.

The new LG KH1300 is a slider. For its design, I’d say it looks a bit plain, although some others claim it nice! When slided open, it shows you the old and standard number key pad. It is HSDPA compatible (up to 3.6Mbps transfer rates). Which means transfering an MP3 file with 3MB size will take you about 7 seconds. It has an MP3 player, a video player, a 1.3Mpix camera, and many other features. Surely, it’s great for those who treat their phone as also their favorite music player, so you don’t have to carry an iPod separately. It will be available soon and should cost about $425.

The scientists are really so good, they aren’t even willing to waste a drop of your pee. What they do now is to recycle it for making batteries to provide power to your gadgets! It’s the pee battery, which makes use of the ions in human urine to produce about 1.5 volts, which is the same as a standard AA battery. A prototype has been developed by the scientists at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. The prototype can produce power that lasts for 90 minutes. The lifetime, voltage, and power can be improved by adjusting the geometry and materials used.

We’ve seen quite a number of USB gadgets. Maybe you already have some ingenious ideas of making use of these USB gadgets at every corner in your house. Such as the USB blanket, which you could just leave your PC on and have this blanket on you when you’re in bed to keep you warm during the cold winter nights. Or you wanna setup a USB webcam in your kids’ room, which you can then monitor them from the PC in your room. The limitation of the normal 6 feet USB cable would have let you down for doing all this. But now, with the mini USB-2 extender, which allows you to use any USB device up to 150 feet from the computer, all your brilliant ideas can be implemented!
The mini USB-2 extender uses CAT 5 cable to transmit the USB signal between your PC and the USB device. Some might like the idea of hiding your computer away in a closet, and running your display, mouse and keyboard anywhere in your house. The downside is this extender supports only USB 1.1.
