MWG will produce Windows mobile phones or PDAs that can be charged wirelessly via magnetic induction. And they target to ship the wirelessly chargeable devices by mid 08. Basically, the technology used is similar to the one used in portable toothbrushes, provided by U.K.-based Splashpower.
The picture shows a charging plate which users have to place the mobiles on it for charging them wirelessly. Similar to electric toothbrushes, inductive power sends current obtained from a wall adapter through a coil in a charging unit. As current flows through the coil, it generates a magnetic field, which in turn induces a current to flow to the receiving coil in the toothbrush handle.

Although your smartphone, PDA or UMPC comes with a QWERTY keyboard, but I don’t think they can provide you as much productivity as the full-sized PC QWERTY that your’re used to. This is simply because of your fingers are too big to type quickly on the overly small QWERTY of your PDA or smartphone. Due to the small size of the QWERTY of your smartphone or PDA, you tend to not to use it for typing long email messages, memos or surfing the web. Even though it comes with almost all the functionalities that you get on your laptop/PC. The ANYCOM Stowaway Keyboard is the wireless Bluetooth-enabled full-sized PC keyboard that works with any PDA, smartphone, tablet etc, to enable you to gain as much productivity as using the full-sized PC QWERTY keyboard.

After my second thought, I should stick to a PDA phone instead of changing to a smartphone, as I’m so used to using stylus, especially for messaging! A combination of smartphone and PDA would be great! The new O2 XDA Stealth, which combines the best PDA functionality in the stylish form of a slider phone, would be a better choice for me. What impresses me are its built-in wireless LAN and generous 192MB built-in memory. You get tons of space for photos, music, documents etc.
It runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 with access to Word, Excel and Windows Media Player. You can easily chat with friends on MSN Messenger, send emails, take some pretty sharp shots with its 2 Megapixel camera and then send it via MMS and Bluetooth! The insufficient parts for me are its camera is only 2 megapixel, which I’m looking for something higher and there is no 3G.
