Two HTC smartphones will be headed to AT&T in early 2012 which are the HTC Elite and HTC LTE Windows phone. The latter should resemble the HTC Titan which is already available at AT&T but offering only HSPA+ connectivity. So the HTC LTE Windows phone will be the second LTE Windows phone for AT&T after Nokia. The handset features a large 4.7-inch display and would be released on February 5 after its official announcement at CES 2012.

Apple is known for being strict in approving apps, which they want to make sure that any iOS apps uploaded to Apple app store do not contain viruses, malicious codes or anything that drains too much resources, leak memory or harm the user’s devices. While on the other hand, Android apps are much easier to get approval and there are a number of 3rd-part app stores other than the Android Market. Thus in less than six months’ time, malicious Android apps have doubled to 1,000. And of course this is a threat to Android users.

Nokia has had a few WP7.5 smartphones such as the Lumia 710 and the Lumia 800 which face some great demands in some markets (e.g. in UK). Now rumors indicate that Nokia is prepping another flagship WP7.5 handset which will come in the form of Nokia Lumia 900.

Nokia Lumia 710 is a Windows Phone 7.5 Mango smartphone which will go on sale today in Taiwan and launches in a number of countries a week later including Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Russia. Followed by a global launch within the coming weeks and headed to T-Mobile in the US as well sometime next week.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus – dubbed as the world’s first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone will be officially launched by Verizon in the US this Friday, December 9th. This is confirmed by the Verizon Equipment Guide as shown above.

Stuart Hughes is at it again, has added gold and diamonds to the latest iOS device of Apple – the iPhone 4S. Called the iPhone 4S Elite, costs a whopping $9.4 million USD or £6 million. The expensiveness of this iPhone 4S is of course due to the diamonds and old that cover it.

Meizu was first known as an iPhone clone, but now has evolved up to Meizu MX, a dual-core device that supports the HSPA+ connectivity. The Meizu MX will be available in the China market on January 1st, starting with a price of $470 and follwoed by a release in Hong Kong sometime in January too.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone, and it gets pretty hot when there are lots of gaming or network activities such as Facebook, Twitter etc (Whereas, iPhone 4 or iPhon4 S will never get hot with the same amount of activities). A handset that easily gets hot would probably lead to explosion – that’s what I’d think of, sometimes. Unfortunately, a variant of the S2 – the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket really exploded in a man’s pocket!

Sony Ericsson has an HD smartphone coming our way, called the SE Nozomi. The handset has some press photos leaked. It packs a large 4.3-inch HD touchscreen display offering a resolution of 1280×720.
