OWC releases 12TB Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 storage solution

OWC has released its new 12TB storage solution which is known as the Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2. The OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro Qx2 offers 4 bays for 3TB 3.5-inch HDDs with RAID setting. It also comes with various types of connectivity including FireWire 400, FireWire 800, USB 2.0 and eSATA, but unfortunately, there is no USB 3.0.

Super Talent announces world’s smallest and fastest mini PCIe SSD, CoreStore MV

Super Talent has announced a super small and fast mini PCIe SSD which is called the CoreStore MV. The new CoreStore mini PCIe SSD boasts a read and write speeds of 350MBps and 80MBps respectively. The SuperTalent’s mini PCIe SSD comes in a very tiny size, which measures only 30mm x 50.95mm.

The CoreStore MV uses the Marvell’s latest controller and DDR ONFi 2 flash and is compatible with netbooks, notebooks and other portable gadgets that have a second-gen mini-PCIe slot.

Mitsubishi outs 92-inch 3D Home Cinema TV

Mitsubishi has readied a 92-inch 3D Home Cinema TV for the market. This is definitely too large for most moderate-sized homes. This 92-inch Mitsubishi TV also uses Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology to bring your home theater to live while watching HD or 3D movies.

Lenovo unveils 6 new notebooks based on Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors

Lenovo has unveiled 6 new ThinkPad notebooks based on the Intel’s Sandy Bridge series of Core and Core vPro processors. The new Lenovo notebooks are the T420s, T420, T520, L420, L520 and W520 models which all come with improved battery life and are best for business users for long-hour operations.

NEC MEDIAS E-04C Android smartphone measures 7.7mm thick at its thinnest point

NEC has readied a super slim Android 2.2 Froyo smartphone called the NEC MEDIAS E-04C, which is slated to hit Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo on February 24. The NEC MEDIAS E-04C should be much thinner almost most Android devices that we’re aware of, as it measures a mere 7.7mm at its thinnest point (e.g Samsung Galaxy S2 measures 8.49mm thick while the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc measures 8.9mm thick).

Samsung develops new memory for smartphones and tablets, offering 8x wider bandwidth

Samsung claims that it’s managed to develop a new type of memory for smartphones and tablets with ultra-wide bandwidth, called the LPDDR2 (Low Power Double Data Rate 2) RAM. The new LPDDR2 RAM increases bandwidth by increasing the number of pins on the chip from 32 to 512 (16 times larger). This gives it 8 times of more memory bandwidth from 1.6GB per second of a regular mobile DDR memory to 12.8 GB per second of the ultra-wide bandwidth. It’s also equivalent to 4 times wider than everyday LPDDR2.

Panasonic announces first gesture-controlled TV

Panasonic has announced its first gesture-controlled TV which allows you to control the TV by simply waving your hands, instead of having to use a remote control or touch any buttons. The Panasonic’s gesture-controlled TV is equipped with motion sensors which are able to detect your hand gestures. Such as you just need to wave to the left or right in front of the TV (if you’re 5-10cm away) to change channels.

LG Optimus 3D smartphone gets official

LG has officially announced its LG Optimus 3D Android smartphone. The handset offers dual cameras and parallax barrier display. The 3D effect depends on parallax barrier, similar to Nintendo 3DS, which does not require you to wear special 3D glasses for viewing the 3D images.

Acer intros Iconia Tab A500 Android Honeycomb tablet

Acer has introduced a new Android Honeycomb tablet called the Acer Iconia Tab A500. The device is a 10.1-inch tablet which packs a multi-touch display and is powered by a dual-core Tegra 2 dual-core processor complimented with NVIDIA GeForce GPU with Adobe Flash 10.1 support. The tablet measures only 13.3 mm thick and will be available sometime in April but no words on its price yet.
