First among the USB flash drives, having clung the USB 3.0 standard is the Super Talent USB 3.0 flash drive and promises transfer rates of up to 320MB/sec.

The Super Talent USB 3.0 flash drive is expected to be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. And of course you will need to have a computer that comes with the USB 3.0 ports to enjoy the high speeds of up to 200MB/sec. If you want the top speed 320MB/sec on USB 3.0 port, you need a separate UAS Protocol driver to achieve that.

The drive can also work on USB 2.0 port but operates at slower speeds. Anyway, no word for the price and release date.

But the Litl Webbook is exceptional which it has no hard drive, stores its data on the Internet and it can be flipped around into a TV device.

The Litl Webbook has a more flexible hinge, which can be bended backwards to stand like a TV-like device with an optional remote control and a TV-style knob. The device has a 12-inch LCD display, capable of providing up to 178-degree viewing angle with better color resolution, which is comfortable enough for those around you to watch and share videos on it. The GPU of the Litl is capable of decoding H.264 video at 720p resolution

The Litl webbook is stuffed with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 2GB of flash storage, and the mentioned GPU. It also includes a number of connectivity including WiFi, headphone port, USB 2.0, HDMI for bigger display. The Litl has no hard drive, interesting enough that it makes use of the “cloud computing” concept which pulls, shares and stores data on the Internet.

Software loaded including the Flickr and Shutterfly online gallery compatibility, easy link sharing for browser, streaming internet TV and a Facebook widget. It’s available now for a price of $699 and the optional remote costs you another $19.

Some more the Zinc-Air costs less to manufacture, safer and friendly to the user and environment.

The Zinc Air battery simply sucks the oxygen from room air to generate current. Air and zinc are the electrodes, making zinc air safer than lithium-ion batteries as no volatile materials contained within that could possibly catch fire.

Zinc Air was developed by Norway firm, SINTEF and being marketed by ReVolt. The prototype been designed to fit smaller form factor and power-hungry mobile gadgets. It’d also be made for automobile industries in the form of rechargeable battery packs for electric vehicles.

The two companies are still striving to improve the recharging cycle counts of the battery before getting it to the next step. ReVolt is hoping the Zinc could reach at least 500 recharging cycles to be more solid to kick Lithium Ion battery away.

Hitachi is no exceptional, currently working with Canesta and GestureTek for a new line of television that will be able to recognize the user’s hand gestures.

Using hand gestures to control the TV set eliminates the need of remote control. This of course provides more handiness to the users which waving of hands only allows you to operate the TV. No more fighting for remote control among couple and family members. And also no more misplace of TV remote control.

The two mentioned companies that work with Hitachi, have their own roles in bringing the gesture-controlled TV sets to reality. GestureTek is basically focused on software that is able to recognize hand gestures and defines which gestures control which TV functions.

Canesta is responsible for the hardware that captures 3D image of the hand of the audience, so the system can differentiate between your hand and a picture of your hand.

The Hitachi gesture-controlled TV would allow each user to have their own setting of hand commands stored in it. It’s always wise for a user to set some simple enough gestures for switching channels or jumping to your favorite channels. So you can always be ahead of your partner for doing so. Watch the demo in the video below.

The scent signal contained in the sweat will tell if a person is scared. The scientists have carried out study on the underarm secretions of 20 terrified novice skydivers, and they have proven that the smell of the sweat reflected their fears.

The fear detector would be best used to identify terrorists or those who have committed wrongdoing at checkpoints. Currently, the researchers have got only a prototype of this device. They still have some obstacles to overcome such as it’ll not give reliable detection for those who wear perfumes or who with weird body odors.

This gestural interface is called Muscle computer interface, which allows your finger or hand movements in the air, without touching a device or instrument but allowing you to control or operate the device precisely. The interface can be developed for game play, such for playing Guitar Hero without needing a physical guitar controller.

The Muscle computer interface will have a couple of EMG electrodes which directly sense the electrical signals in the arms to capture finger movements that mimic the button presses. This interface should have a wide range of applications, video below shows how it’s used.

There could be lots of food debris stuck in between of each key of the keyboard. If it’s a computer shared by many hands, the keyboard is even dirtier and it can even pass germs from one to another.

Here comes the Vioguard keyboard, the first of its kind that features a UV sanitizer that can kill germs and viruses. The sanitizer is a 25-watt UV light that claims to be able to kill 99.99% of bacteria and viruses in about 90 seconds. Leaving the 0.1%, which should be defendable by your own body immune system.

Some more, this keyboard is motorized, equipped with IR sensor, which hides itself when it’s not in use so it will not get contaminated by dust and dirt around. Wave your hand in front of the IR sensor, it’ll come out to serve you.

The Vioguard self-clean keyboard was introduced at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) 91st annual meeting, October 12-17 in Toronto. It aims at medical market uses and consumers in Canada. The keyboard should appeal to health-conscious geeks, especially during the time when H1N1 flu is still pretty active over the globe. Equip one of these for your family who possibly share only one computer at home. But it’ll run you with an expensive price of $899. Video below shows the self-clean keyboard in action.

Now the good news is Asus has just unveiled one of their first USB 3.0 mainboards, P7P55D/P7P55D-E, which also comes equipped with SATA 6Gbps interface to deliver record-fast data transfer speeds.

The data transfer speeds are whopping fast on the Asus USB 3.0 mainboards, which claim the transfer of a 20GB HD movie takes only slightly more than a minute (below 70 seconds), while it’s transferring at peak speeds with the new USB connection. These Asus motherboards have also been enhanced with the Asus’ hybrid processor, hybrid phase and hybrid OS technologies that boost the overall performance, including the ability of overclocking, active cooling control and instant-on Internet access.

The ASUS Xtreme Design P7P55D-E Series have both SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 on board, while the ASUS Xtreme Design P7P55D depends on a separate U3S6 PCIe x4 expansion card for the high-speed connections. Either uses the Intel’s P55 Express chipset and takes both Core i5 and Core i7 processor.

These Asus USB 3.0 mainboards have also been made to support Windows 7, which they’re to be shipped with Windows 7 drivers. But sadly, pricing and availability are still unknown.
