Ulteo brings OpenOffice 2.3 online, but it’s crawling!

Ulteo has brought OpenOffice version 2.3 online. Go to Ulteo.com, and fill up some simple profile information then you’ll get an account to login and start using the OpenOffice online. The online OpenOffice by Ulteo requires Sun’s original JVM (Java Virtual Machine), different from some other online office suites such as Google Docs or Zoho, which rely on DHTML/AJAX for delivering fantastic web apps with high user interactiveness.

Sudoku Junction – the online Sudoku puzzle

I’m no big fan of Sudoku puzzle, in fact I ain’t know that much how to get this puzzle around. But only recently as told by a friend on how to play with it. What I know is it’s a kind of puzzle that consists of some numbers on a few square boxes and you have to fill in those numbers from 1 to 9 and the numbers of each row and column must not be repeated. New freebie from Microsoft, the Virtual PC 2007

It’s only the first quarter of 2007, Microsoft has already started giving away some gifts. Its latest version of Virtual PC 2007, is now a freebie. The Virtual PC 2007 is a program that allows users to run multiple operating systems at once on a single physical computer. This means that you can run Windows XP, Vista or ME etc on the same physical machine. Users can easily switch among operating systems by only clicking the mouse! If you’ve ever used software such as VMWare, then you should know how this works. The only downside is Virtual PC supports only Microsoft’s operating systems, which means you’re unable to have non-MS operating systems such as Linux, MAC etc.

The new version of the Virtual PC has some additional features such as:

• 64-bit host operating systems
• Hardware-assisted virtualization
• Network-based installation of a guest operating system
• Running virtual machines on multiple monitors

It’s available for free download for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. To me, I’m not so interested in running few Microsoft’s OSes under one physical machine. Maybe I’ll do for only XP and Vista. I’m more interested to have different vendor’s operating systems under one physical machine, such as Redhat/uBuntu Linux, Mac, Solaris and Windows XP would be just nice. Too bad, Virtual PC can’t do it!
