The PocketSurfer phone, first mentioned in 2004 by DataWind, but never came true. Three years later, DataWind is back at 3GSM, showing its version 2 of PocketSurfer, the PocketSurfer 2. The biggest advantage of having this phone is it allows mobile users to serve the Internet at great speed, to keep them connected. Providing a speedy rate of 7 – 9 seconds per page of web pages download, the fastest way to view the web on any cellular network. PocketSurfer is the only handheld Internet device in its size category able to render web pages in their original layout, with full graphic functionality.
The second version has some improvements upon the original PocketSurferâ„¢ in a number of ways; firstly the form factor has been improved for a thinner, sleeker device to meet today’s trend and secondly, it now has a backlight on the full QWERTY keyboard from the original model. What happened to the first one? That’s the usual question to be asked again!

According to some “reliable” tips by CrunchGear’s Matt Hickey, Zune Phone is (nearly) confirmed. The fact was last Monday, Microsoft filed an application with the FCC for an enigmatic wireless device that could be used to talk over the Internet. The device is described as being used for “consumer broadband access and networking.†Microsoft goes on to say that the device would use OFDM as its communications protocol, not WiFi or Bluetooth. The standard OFDM (orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing) is a modulation scheme that is used widely in upcoming 4G standards of the future. Sprint/Nextel may be the carrier, since they are building out a 4G network that will work with the OFDM standard.
The most interesting is the targeted date to hit the market is in May. Wow! A month before the iPhone. I was talking about that MS always followed the steps of Apple, but now they seem to wanna fight for a step ahead! If all tips are correct, then MS is working on a mobile WiMax-enabled Zune Phone, which would have download speeds of up to 2Mbps, fast enough for any kind of streaming, especially Xbox-to-Zune.
The first real news can be expected about it before March 17, which time we should learn the name of the device. At the same time, we should also learn other launch specifics, The source says that it’s now pending FCC approval, the specter-like Zune Phone will hit the streets sometime in May, a full month before the iPhone.

Cellphone is our ubiquitous companion, most of us can’t leave our cellphone away from us for only few minutes. I personally know there are someones who like their cellphones beside them when taking bath or doing some other business in the bathroom, so they can pick up calls immediately when the phone rings. Some even worse, having long bath session, just simply sit in the bathtub and enjoy chatting on the cellphone.

What’s Microsoft been doing, a copycat of Apple’s product strategy? They seem to like so much of following Apple’s steps instead of having thier own flow and product strategy. After Apple’s iPod, they came out with Zune, which was trying to share some bites of the hot cake of iPod’s, but Zune still has a long catch-up to play. Now, Apple has got the iPhone, the combination of its older brother, iPod’s function, a camera’s and a cellphone’s in one, which has successfully created a big buzz! So Microsoft is trying to follow the steps again, i.e Zune Phone!
According to the tips collected by CrunchGear, Microsoft is still in the process of working out details and strategies for Zune Phone. Lets have a prelim look at what Zune Phone would offer:
