Google is working on a speech-to-speech translation tool for the mobile phones. With this translator loaded on your mobile phone, you’ll have no language barrier while communicating with your foreign friends or business partners.
The Google Speech Translator for mobile phones shall allow the users to chat verbally with their foreign friends over the phone, without the need to use dictionary. The Google Speech translation works similarly to voice recognition technology where its has drawbacks that need to be ironed out including differences of voice, accent and pitch etc.

The upcoming Verizon HTC Incredible smart phone has got some photos and video leaked. The HTC Incredible is said to run Android 2.1 with HTC Sense. It’s powered by Snapdragon processor which was claimed to be “really fast”.

Sony Ericsson X1, a Windows Mobile-based smart phone has been modified to run a version of Android OS. If you’re a big fan of the Android OS, you’d love how it can be done. But it seems not to run as speedy as other Android devices.
The modified SE X1 presents slow flicks and gesture responses with the Android OS running on it. Transitioning between different menus and functions aren’t smooth either on this SE smart phone. There should be some work ahead which the developers have to get ironed out with their modifications.

The Google Nexus One phone was initially rolled out with very limited multi-touch capability in the phone’s virtual keyboard only, which has raised lots of dissatisfaction from the users. And now they’ve announced the multi-touch functionality is made available, where the users can get their the update onto their Nexus One phones via Google’s over-the-air update.

The device is handy for the elderly and children, where their families can use it to keep track of where they are via GPS. Similar to other GPS devices, you can set safe zones and receive alerts when the wearer decides to step outside of them.
