There is a need for a more effective way to test alcohol level for drivers to prevent more accidents. There are systems, such as the court-ordered breathalyzers, that can be installed in a car to stop the driver from starting the car, until he or she blows an acceptable alcohol level. But such a system can only be installed as an after-market component.

The lithium-ion battery systems used in electric vehicles will need special cooling system in order to maintain their performance, reliability and durability. Ford plans to use lithium-ion batteries in their new batches of EVs. But in order to keep the battery systems at good performance, reliable and durable at extreme temperature, Ford has a better way to do that i.e. to use cooled or heated liquid to regulate the battery temperature, which should extend the battery life and maximize driving range.
