The Samsung Galaxy S III has been officially announced. The new specs at a quick read are new 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Cortex-A9 quad-core chips, a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with 720 x 1280 (306ppi) resolution, an 8MP rear camera with full HD (1080p) video recording, a 1.9MP front-facing camera with 720p HD video recording and more after the jump.
The Samsung Galasy S3 also packs 1GB of RAM, is offered in models with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB on-board storage; with each supporting microSD card up to 64GB. There are models for LTE connectivity for certain countries while in the UK gets only the HDPA+ model.
The handset also packs 7 sensors which are accelerometer, RGB light, proximity sensor, gryoscope, NFC, and barometer. The entire handset measures 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm, weighs 133 grams and is given a larger battery of 2,100 mAH – the first of its kind among Samsung smartphones.

While compared to the Galaxy S2, S3’s display is 22-percent larger, the 8.6mm thickness is slightly thicker than the 8.49mm S2 but of course S3 is powered by a much more powerful quad-core chip. Head over to.
