Alesis unveils Vortex – the world’s first USB/MIDI keytar controller

Alesis is a renown maker of music instruments and tools for today’s musicians, having unveiled the world’s first USB/MIDI keytar controller which is known as Vortex.

The Vortex offers an extensive layout of touch-sensitive keys and velocity-sensitive pads on its pearlescent white body and radical octave and pitch controls on its neck, allowing keyboard player to rule the stage.

Vortex includes features that never before found on any keytar including on-board traditional MIDI and USB MIDI, which allow keyboardists to use the Vortex with all of their software instruments and synths on Mac, PC, and iPad. They offer unlimited a virtually unlimited palette of sounds.

The Vortex keytar is also equipped with accelerometer which allows keyboardists to freely roam on stage and control the Vortex with their motions.

When using the Vortex with your PC or Mac via USB and it can be USB-powered which requires no external power. But it needs to be powered by batteries when used with MIDI modules or the iPad.

Vortex is expected to go on sale and can be purchased from musical instrument and pro audio dealers in Q2-2012 with an MSRP of $399.00 and an estimated street price of $249.00.
