Analysts have predicted that the iPad 3 to launch sometime in February next year. The Apple iPad 3 is said to come with double resolution of the retina display (1024 x 768) of iPad 2, which will pack 2048 x 1536 pixels of resolution. The analysts also claim that there do not appear to be any significant technical hurdles that will prevent the launch.
According to Apple’s track record, both the iPad 1 and iPad 2 were launched in Q1 – the iPad 1 was launched in January 2010, while the iPad 2 was launched in March 2011. So, it’s apparent that Apple is aiming for a yearly refresh cycle, unless there are some unforeseen technical hurdles that will delay the launch.
If it’s true that the iPad 3 will be launched in mid Q1 next year, then it’ll very likely face a fierce competition from a high-res tablet from Samsung – an 11.6-inch tablet that packs 2560×1600 pixels in resolution and will launch sometime in February 2012.
