BiKN, pronounced as beacon isn’t just your average protective iPhone case. It’s a smart case that turns your iPhone into an item tracker, helping you keep track of any small items around that you always have trouble finding.
The BiKN is a radio-enabled smart case for your iPhone which allows the iPhone to track and easily locate any tagged item using the myBiKN app. For any items that you want them to be trackable on your iPhone, you just need to clip the BiKN tag on them. And your iPhone will become connected with all the tagged items even though it’s turned off or in sleep mode.
The BiKN smart case itself is a low-profile and elegant smart case which can be configured according to the user’s taste. Users can choose either a black or bright-white gloss base case and pair it with one of six soft-touch, snap-on matte color highlights. The electronic-enabled base slides into the color piece accessing the iPhone 30-pin connector. There is a micro USB port on the case, which allows you to sync and charge your iPhone while in the BiKN case.
As mentioned, for items that need to be trackable that you have to clip the BiKN tags on them. The BiKN tags have been designed to be easily clipped onto things that matter such as a key chain, backpack or child’s belt loop.
The myBiKN app on your iPhone allows you to configure up to 8 items and you can use functions including “Find”, “Leash” or “Page” items from the iPhone. The “Find” mode includes a visual meter and audio signal that helps locate the misplaced item. The “Leash” enables the user to control how far a tagged item can be separated from the smart case before an alarm sounds on both the phone and tag. While the “Page” can sound an alert on one or multiple tags.
The BiKN iPhone smart case, a product of Treehouse Lab has also been named an International CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Honoree. More info about the BiKN smart case is available on BiKN.com. A clip is included below explaining how it keeps your things connected.
