The world’s fastest chronograph watch has been crowned on the newly announced TAG Heuer Mikrotimer. The watch is capable of measuring out 1/1000th of a second at 500Hz, thanks to a small balance wheel which the watch is equipped with; offering the capabilities of going back and forth 3.6 million times in an hour.
If you’re unsure what the figures are all about, you can simply compare it with a Rolex watch, which is capable of going back and forth around 28,000 beats per hour that is definitely much slower than the TAG Heuer Mikrotimer. Of course, the technologies used for the two watches are apparently different.
Another analogy to the Mikrotimer’s measuring capability of 1/1000th of a second – it’s 300 times faster than a human blink. The watch’s mechanical gears are also said to be running faster than a sports car engine.
