iOS devices have always been the most exciting controllers for a number of RC toys, including RC helicopter. Griffin’s HELO TC is another RC helicopter that is remotely controllable by using your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. The HELO TC comes with an accompanying iOS app which turns your iOS device into a multi-touch remote control for HELO TC.

The HELO TC itself is an indoor helicopter, equipped with two rotors, built on a lightweight metal frame with a black polycarbonate body. It comes with a Flight Deck Infrared module that plugs into your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch for sending signals to fly the HELO TC.

There are two modes of flying the HELO TC. The Touch Control allows you to use the multi-touch display of your iOS device to control the HELO TC’s throttle and joystick. While the Tilt to Steer mode depends on the iDevice’s accelerometer, allowing you to simply tilt your iDevice to move the helicopter forward, backward and side to side.

Since it’s based on an iOS app on your iDevice, you’ll also have the flexibility to store up to three flight plans, allowing you or another pilot to repeat a favorite flight pattern.

The HELO TC has built-in rechargeable battery that can be charged via USB, including the USB port of your computer. While the Flight Deck Infradred module requires 4 AAA batteries for its power and hooks up to your iDevice via the headphone jack. The HELO TC is now up for grab on Griffin Technology for $50 each.
