Elgato has announced a dual-network tuner, called HDHomeRun, which allows you to watch HDTV wirelessly on either a Mac or PC. The HDHomeRun can be connected to a TV antenna or a digital cable, letting you wirelessly stream live TV in full HD quality on your Mac or PC.

The above diagram shall explain clearly how the HDHomeRun works. It’s a dual tuner, can be hooked up to either the TV antenna or digital cable outlet (or both) and to your WiFi router via the Ethernet port. From that on, the HDHomeRun lets you wirelessly stream live TV to multiple computers at full HD quality via WiFi.

It works seamlessly on multiple computers; one user can watch and record TV on a Mac and at the same time, a second user can watch and record a different channel on a PC.
The HDHomeRun comes with the EyeTV 3, the software you need on your Mac for watching, pausing, and rewinding live TV on your Mac. It also lets you search Program Guide, record TV shows, and export recordings to iTunes automatically for playback on your iPhone or iPad.
The device also pairs with the EyeTV iOS app, letting you stream live and recorded TV to an iPhone, iPod or iPad via 3G. The Elgato HDHomeRun is now available on Elgato.com for a rather expensive price of $180.
