iVPN is the VPN service that you need, if you’ve been traveling overseas, in order to enjoy certain services that are available in the US only while you’re abroad or outside the US; including watching Netflix, Hulu, listening to Pandora and reading some US-only newspaper websites.
On the other hand, the iVPN is also good for anonymous surfing, keeping private of what websites or online services that you’ve been accessing. Your ISP or office firewall/router will have no idea of your online activities. Of course, if you’re using such a VPN service on your computer within your office LAN, you must first find out from your office policy, if you’re allowed to do so.
The iVPN is definitely handy for users on the go, as it works on your PC, laptop, iPhone, iPad and Android devices etc. The iVPN supports the more secure VPN technologies which are OpenVPN and L2TP, instead of the less secure PPTP technology.
iVPN on a computer
If you’re using the iVPN on your computer, you can choose to run the OpenVPN client which is deemed more stable and faster while compared to the L2TP and it offers a strong 256-bit encryption. I’ve tested the OpenVPN client connecting to the iVPN service on my laptop running Windows 7, it works seamlessly and smoothly and let me access those US-only services and websites; while I was outside the US, connected to a single-hop iVPN US server.
The iVPN offers a comprehensive list of VPN servers, including those in US, UK, Frane, Netherlands etc, so you can simply choose to connect to any one of them in order to enjoy certain limited services from those countries. There are also options for single hop and multi-hop VPN connections. Multi-hop is good for those who’re overly concerned about their privacy as it lets your traffic be routed through 2 or more VPN servers, thus offering significantly higher levels of anonymity and privacy. But of course, the connection will be slightly slower. Other than Windows, the iVPN also offers OpenVPN client for your Mac.
iVPN on iPhone or iPad

I’ve also tested the iVPN on my iPhone and iPad. The iVPN for iPhone/iPad is based on L2TP. The setup is simple, you just need to go to the Home screen of your iPhone, tap Setting -> General -> Network -> VPN, and key in the server, account (user) and password, and shared secret. Once you’re done, turn the VPN on, then you’re connected to the VPN server. A complete step by step instruction is available on iVPN.net knowledgebase. Steps for getting it to work on an iPad are the same.

Similarly, while connected to an iVPN US server, I could access those US-only services and websites using my iPhone or iPad while I was outside the US.
Pricing
Price wise, the iVPN service costs only $15 a month, which is a little more pricey while compared to other VPN services. But I love how it works nicely on my laptop, iPhone and iPad – the devices that I always carry around on the go. If you pay annually for the iVPN service, you can even save up to 44%, costing only $100 per year or less than $10 USD a month. Aren’t convinced? You can also try out for just a month which costs only $20. For more details about the pricing, check out iVPN.net
