iOS 4.3.3 is available and fixes the location tracking “bug”

The iOS 4.3.3 is now available and the bug fixes mainly address the location tracking issue, which tons of users have concern over it.

As shown in the screenshot below, the “bug fixes” mainly address the location database cache, including reducing the cache size, no more backing up the location database cache up to iTunes on your computer, and deleting the cache entirely when the location service on your iDevice is turned off.

According to Apple, the location tracking was just a “crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower database” that was used to speed up positioning fixes by the iPhone and it wasn’t meant for tracking the users’ movements. However, this has raised users’ concerns that they might have been tracked by Apple or other services.

Anyway, if you’re paranoid over this issue, go ahead and update your iPhone, or iPad 3G now with the latest iOS 4.3.3. But jailbreaker shall wait first till the jailbreak tool available for the iOS 4.3.3 or else your baseband and jailbreak will be hurt.
