Have you been waiting for one of those Chrome OS-powered netbooks? Samsung has one in their line but it’s not official yet. The Samsung’s Chrome OS netbook is codenamed Samsung Alex, and has its specs revealed through some bug reports of the OS.
The Samsung Alex has some specs improvement over the first Cr-48 prototype which turned up in end of 2010. Alex comes with a high-def display that packs a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
It’ll be powered by an Intel 1.5Ghz Atom N550 CPU and packs 2GB RAM, a Sandisk SSD, a Qualcomm Gobi Chipset 2000 and Realtek ALC272.
All these are the currently known details of the Samsung Alex netbook. It’s expected to be announced officially or at least with more details, when Google I/O takes place on May 10th and 11th at the Mascone Center in San Francisco, California.
