It’s another credit card reader for the iPhone users to accept credit card payments on the go. The new iPhone credit card reader is from iZettle, which supports chip-based smart cards – a feature that is not supported by the recently released Square iPhone credit card reader.
The iZettle iPhone credit card reader comes in the form of a little dongle that plugs into the docking port of your iPhone. It allows you to insert a chip-based credit card for reading the chip contents.
Since it’s plugged into the dock port instead of the headphone jack, it’ll make your device bigger. The iZettle will be offered free of charge and the company will charge the user at a small percentage of amount processed.
The iZettle is expected to first launch in its home market, Sweden, in June. Followed by launches in other European countries later. A promo clip is included below.
