Fujitsu Lifebook E741/C equipped with a contactless palm vein reader

We told you that Fujitsu managed to develop the world’s smallest palm vein scanner which was more hygiene than using a fingerprint reader for authenticating a user. Now, the palm vein sensor has been integrated into a Fujitsu notebook, Lifebook E741/C.

The palm vein scanner is a little square at the right hand side of the chassis under the keyboard which looks like a small trackpad. This little square is the palm vein reader that’s able to read the vein structure in your palm to identify as the correct user, without needing you to touch the reader.

In addition to the cool palm vein scanner, the Lifebook E741/C also packs a 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366×768, a Core i7-2620M CPU and an Intel QM67 Express Chipset.

It also has a 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, WiFi connectivity and runs Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. It’ll retail for 240,135 yen or $2,930 USD after the conversion, when it hits Japan in mid of May. It also comes included with a power adapter that stops drawing power when the battery is fully charged, which is useful for not wasting your electricity or overcharging your battery.
