Fujitsu has announced the creation of the world’s smallest and slimmest vein sensor which is to be used to read the veins on your palm instead of reading your fingerprints.
This is a different approach in biometric security by reading the veins instead of the finger prints, which does not need the user to touch the sensor, eliminating any hygiene issues.
The sensor is able to capture images at high speed of 20 frames per second. The best image in the capture will be used to authenticate the user. Although the sensor packs image-capturing capabilities but it comes in a super tiny size, allowing it to be used on various mobile gadgets such laptops or cell phones. No word when we’ll start seeing the Fujitsu vein sensor but it shouldn’t be too far from now.
