NVidia unveils Silverlight 3DVision plugin to add 3D vision to websites

Websites can have 3D videos playing by the use of a new Silverlight plugin, called 3DVision, which has just been unveiled by NVidia. If you’re a web developer, you can follow what NVIDIA has published – the instruction on how to develop 3D vision ready websites.

The 3D contents or 3D videos on websites can be viewed by users wearing NVIDIA 3D Vision glasses or other similar 3D devices. High-quality 3D video can also be streamed to a 3D-equipped PC, which shows the same 3D effects as those 3D contents played directly from a local drive or a disk.

Basically the 3D video on website is playable by the NVidia’s plugin on Microsoft Media Platform (MMP) Player Framework v2.5, which was formerly known as MS Silverlight Media Framework.

NVIDIA is the first company that has made such a 3D plugin available and it can be downloaded from NVIDIA 3D Vision website. This 3D plugin will also be shown off by NVIDIA at their booth at NAB this week.
