An open source AirPort Express emulator, called ShairPort, has been developed by a developer, which is able to let you stream music from iTunes to any unofficial third party devices that are not supported by Apple.
The private key that is used by AirPort Express has been reversed-engineered, which now allows for streaming from iTunes to unsupported third party devices or software. The developer has posted the key to the VideoLAN mailing list.
Since the key is available now, there should be some software solutions to start popping up, to allow you to stream music from iTunes to third party devices such as non-Mac computers, customized game consoles (Xbox 360) or other mobile devices. But it’s unlikely that hardware manufacturers will use the unauthorized info to make their devices AirPlay-compatible, as a patch release from Apple will send their devices back to incompatible again.
