
Samsung have shown us their 14-inch laptop with a transparent LCD screen and a few of the prototypes of their transparent screens. Now they’re stepping into mass production for these transparent screens, so you should see them used in various computers in the next few years.
Samsung has officially announced that they’ve started the mass production of their transparent screens. Samsung is said to be the first company developing transparent screen. The 22-inch model will boast the highest transparency rates in the world.
Users will still be able to buy the screens in a traditional black and white or alternatively as a color type. The screens will have a 500:1 contrast ration, a 1,680 x 1050 WSXGA resolution, a transparency of 15% on the color type, and 20% transparent on the black and white. They’re also equipped with USB and HDMI ports.
The Samsung transparent screens are said to consume only a tenth of regular LCD backlit screen as the transparent screens aren’t backlit, they can simply can use natural sunlight. Currently, there is no indication about its ability.
