T-Mobile has announced at CTIA to allow US users to enjoy double of the speeds of its 4G network, delivering 42Mbps data speed for three cities, Las Vegas, New York and Orlando. They’ll also expand the 42Mbps 4G network to Chicago, and down to Long Island in New York area.
There is also a new smartphone called the LG G2x, which has been announced by T-Mobile with Google, to tap on the 42Mbps high-speed 4G network of the T-Mobile. The LG G2x is powered by a 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor and equipped with a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display. The device runs Android 2.2, and has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front camera good for video calls.
T-mobile also has a number of other mobile devices that let you enjoy the high-speed 4G network. The new Rocket 3.0 USB modem is what suits the 42Mbps 4G network and there are a few USB sticks, T-Mobile Jet 2.0 and the T-Mobile Rocket 4G mobile hotspot, which are good for the slower 21Mbps data speed only. The Jet 2.0 will be free after a $50 mail-in rebate with a 2-year contract, and available on March 23th.
