The latest iOS update in iOS 4.3 brings new features to your iPhone or iPad. One of the known, new features is it allows the iPhone to work as a personal wireless hotspot, allowing for up to three devices to hook up to it wirelessly and share the Internet connection.
Other than that, while an WiFi-only iPad or iPad 2 is connected to the iPhone via WiFi, the iPad or iPad 2 is also able to share its GPS location on a map. The iOS 4.3 now lets WiFi-only iPad receive GPS info, which was not available with the older versions of iOS, due to the aGPS module is only available on a 3G iPad but not the WiFi iPad.
But there is a little downside with the GPS capability brought by the iOS 4.3 to the WiFi-only iPad i.e. it’s not real time or near real time as found on a 3G iPad. Instead, the GPS signal is actually passed through by the iPhone every 60 seconds.
